Home Server – Automation

Many people go out and buy an Echo Dot or Google Home device. These devices work decently well for the price, but leave out a lot of customization features that one could get from having a IFTTT server in their home. Using Zigbee it is possible to connect with a wide variety of devices including water level detectors, doors/locks, motion sensors, and essentially anything else that runs on the protocol. 

We are currently exploring Zigbee and Matter to see which one has the best adoption and brightest future. Would love to have your feedback. Is automation a priority for you? 

In addition, these devices can be controlled by Home Assistant either natively or via plugin/addon. Phillips Hue has thus far proven to be a good brand when it comes to support across devices. You can use Home Assistant to control lighting and other features throughout the house.
